The Valley Maderanertal
Bristen, nestling in the Swiss Alps, is a wellknown stopping place on the Gotthard route and a delightful holiday resort. The region is an ideal starting point to explore the passes or for excursions to the nearby Lake of Lucerne. As a large part of the Maderana Valley is also a nature reserve you can enjoy the most impressive walking and climbing excursions in virtually unspoiled surroundings. There is a cable car to take you from Bristen the Golzernsee which might tempt you to have a refreshing swim. In addition to the various Swiss Alpine Club huts which are easy to reach, Bristen and the Maderan Valley have several boarding houses, hotels and holiday flats to cater to all tastes. The Maderan Valley is renowned for its wealth of alpine flowers, the numerous waterfalls, rushing streams and mountain lakes. lt is also famous well beyond the borders, for its rich finds of crystals and minerals.

Bristen è una nota località di transito e di vancanza sulla strada del Gottardo, nel cuore delle Alpi centrali svizzere. In questa regione, gli escursionisti e gli alpinisti trovano di che appagare le loro passioni nel grandioso scenario offerto dalle cime e dalle vette. Bristen è pure il punto di partenza ideale per effettuare il giro dei passi alpini e qualche puntata verso il vicino lago dei Quattro Cantoni. La Maderanertal è mollto apprezzata per la sua ricca flora alpina e per le numerosisime cascate, i ruscelli e i laghetti di montagna. Un altro fattore che ha contribuito a far conoscere questi luoghi oltre i confini nazionali è la presenza di numerosi cristalli e minerali. Gran parte della Maderanertal è zona protteta, cosicché gli escursionisti possono intraprendere giri in montagna in un paesaggio naturale praticamente intatto e di particolare bellezza. Una funivia porta da Bristen al lago di Golzern, dove, nelle belle giornate, si puo fare un bagno rinfrescante. Oltre le capanne del CAS, facilmente raggiungibili, ad Bristen e nella Maderanertal ci sono pensioni, alberghi e appartamenti di vacanza per tutte le esigenze.
